21 dilemas éticos del True Crime contemporáneo, parte de la premisa de que la ética no es un obstáculo para la creación y la investigación periodística, sino el camino para alcanzar la excelencia narrativa y la responsabilidad social.
El auge del true crime ha puesto en el centro de la cultura contemporánea un conjunto de relatos que, a la vez que informan y movilizan conciencias, pueden desvirtuar procesos judiciales, amplificar el dolor y alimentar imaginarios sociales simplificados. Este libro muestra que el dilema no es la existencia del género, sino cómo se construye, para quién y con qué efectos.
A lo largo de los 21 dilemas abordados se evidencia una tensión que vertebra toda la controversia en torno al género: la existente entre el interés público y el sensacionalismo, entre el derecho a la información y la protección de la dignidad, entre la transparencia narrativa y la minimización del daño. Estos ejes se traducen en principios operativos que, aplicados con rigor, permiten un true crime que investiga, contextualiza y protege. Y estos principios éticos irrenunciables son la veracidad y la proporcionalidad; el respeto a la presunción de inocencia; la salvaguarda de la privacidad y el consentimiento informado; la transparencia sobre las recreaciones y los límites de la evidencia, y una alfabetización activa de las audiencias.
